Besides Fantasy Island, this area was used James Garner's Castaway Cowboy, Kevin Costner's Dragonfly, a Coke commercial, and as one of the stops during the third season of CBS's The Amazing Race. We will even show you the crazies who took a 200 foot zip line ride down to the pool below, but don't worry, taking that plunge isn't a part of these Kauai Movie Tours!
Kauai cemetery hidden in the lush vegetation. With a gorgeous view of Mt. Waialeale, the wettest spot on Earth, this cemetery wouldn’t be a bad spot to spend eternity! The Coco Palms was one of the first resorts in Hawaii, and has so much history! This resort has been used as a location for over a dozen features, but is most famous for its association to Elvis Presley. His biggest hit, Blue Hawaii, was primarily filmed here, and Elvis would come back and visit or stay there while shooting his other Hawaiian movies. The Coco Palms has actually been closed to the public since Hurricane Iniki devastated it in 1992, and we are the only tour permitted on the grounds of this captivating place, which is why this stop is included in both our Land and 4X4 Tours. We cross the highway to look down on the scenic Wailua River, another popular movie site. We’ll also see Kamokila Village, used as the African Village in the film Outbreak.
For lunch we head to a popular Kauai destination, Lydgate Beach. Here you will take in the sights and sounds of the surf while enjoying our deli turkey sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, and beverages. Next we head deep into Kauai's interior to find to the Wailua Forest, the magical place where Steven Spielberg built the colossal Jurassic Park Gate! Waialeale, known the wettest spot in the world.
